Innovation in composite development and marine production engineering.

From humble beginnings

In 1998 renting a small space in a workshop, founding partners Terry Stubington and Peter Hill hand-built patterns for prestigious yacht makers, quickly earning themselves a reputation for accuracy, high build quality and ability to solve problems.

Fast forward twenty-something years and although much has changed these underlying principles remain. Based on Daedalus Airfield, a stone’s throw away from The Solent and our dedicated slipway, our history and location is rich in maritime and aviation heritage. We operate from a large newly refurbished aircraft hanger that we are extremely proud to call home.

Marine Concepts has grown into one of the UK’s leading composite development and production facilities with the ability to offer a fully integrated solution package from CNC pattern and mould manufacture through to composite mouldings and assembly.

Facility

The Dunning Building – a large former WW2 aircraft hanger which underwent an extensive refurbishment in 2021. A local landmark due to its size and historical relevance, the great building is now home to CNC machines, a spray booth and approx. 60,000 square feet of composite engineering space.

Overlord Building – a 22,000 square feet new build located on the site of the former Overlord Hanger. This is our clean space for pre-preg and infusion laminating as well as assembly and finishing processes.

We have four simple values that guide our behaviour and culture of integrity. Our values permeate everything we do, including relationships with clients, our partners, our suppliers and the communities in which we work.

  • Quality first – no compromise
  • Client focus – deliver on our promises
  • Create opportunity – for our people to achieve technical excellence
  • Integrity – always doing the right thing
